The princes, bards and legends of Strata Florida

Matthew Yeomans at Strata Florida

In this latest video from The Liminal Forest walking exploration of Wales we visit Strata Florida/Ystrad Flur, one of the most important historical sites in all of Wales.

It was here, in this ancient Cistercian Abbey, that a number of Welsh princes and the famous poet Dafydd ap Gwilym were said to be buried.

It’s also where the original manuscripts of what became the Mabinogian were penned.

Ystrad Flur is a magical place in the heart of Ceredigion and the Cambrian Mountains. And it places a pivotal place in the history of Wales’ connection to nature.
