The son of Gwynllyw and Gwladys, Cadoc would grow up to be one of the most important characters of the early Christian church in Wales. It was said that an angel turned up to announce his birth and a holy well sprang up for his baptism spewing wine. Cadoc founded a great monastery at Llancarfan in the Vale of Glamorgan.
I encounter Cadoc in Trail 3 inspired by the Return to My Trees book, where I walk from Caerleon to Basaleg and the land where his parents once ruled.
