This is potentially the most challenging walk of the entire trail – 16km across the remote Cambrian Mountains.
The trail follows the Cambrian Way and you’ll need to follow the OS map route very carefully as the first few km after leaving Ty’n Cornel hostel can be hard to determine and very boggy in parts.
The trail becomes easier after reaching the red phone box on the Tregaron mountain road. The section between Carn Gron and the woodlands near Bryneithinog is extremely boggy with no discernable route to follow. Be careful picking your way through this section.
Once you reach the woodland there are easy forestry tracks to follow to your destination at Strata Florida.
