Walking Trail 3 – Caerleon to Bassaleg

An easy paced walk of 11km with one urban hill to climb.

This third trail starts at the Hanbury Arms in Caerleon and passes the Roman amphitheatre before crossing the railway line and joining the biking and walk trail along the River Usk. This leads past the Brynglas tunnels where it cuts west to join the footpath by Crindau Pill and the Sirhowy Valley walk following the Glamorganshire canal to the Fourteen Locks Canal Centre. From there it’s a short suburban jaunt to Bassaleg.
