A tough and long 22.5km walk from Maesteg to Neath.
It starts with a climb out of Maesteg into woodland where it meets St. Illtyd’s Walk and follows this homage to the Welsh saint as it winds through the vast Afan Argoed forest, crossing the Afon Afan (river) before climbing north towards Melincourt. The trail branches off before then at an ancient Roman site and follows country lanes down to the Neath suburb of Tonnau.
It is possible to split this walk into two by stopping and then resuming at the village of Cymmer.
